Moving can be a big job. Your move may be a local move or a long distance move. You may be doing the move yourself, having some help or hiring out the complete job. Local Movers

A local move is usually considered to be within a 100 mile radius of your current location. Moving can be a lot of work. Having experienced help can make it easier. Moving can be expensive. The more things you can do yourself, the less expensive your move will be. Moving companies usually charge by the hour for local moves. You can hire help for all or part of the move depending on your needs and your budget. Decide which parts of the move you will need help with. National Movers

A national move is usually considered to be over 50-100 miles from your current location. Moving can be a lot of work. Having experienced help can make it easier. Moving can be expensive. The more things you can do yourself, the less expensive your move will be. Moving companies usually charge by the pound for national moves. You can hire help for all or part of the move depending on your needs and your budget. Decide which parts of the move you will need help with. Truck Rentals

Truck rentals may be your answer if you are doing the move yourself. Some truck rentals are only for local use or need to be returned to the place you rented the truck from. Some truck rentals may be dropped off at different locations or different states. We offer a Free Truck Rental with each new storage move in. This is a great deal. Ask us about the details.

Shipping

Shipping packages can sometimes be cheaper than moving them. Each case is different. National Movers usually charge by the pound. Books are heavy. It may be cheaper to ship them with the U.S. Postal Service instead of using a National Mover. The U.S. Postal Service has a special low cost rate for books called Media Mail. This can cost less than one half of a cent per pound.

Some snowbirds use shipping to get their belongings to Florida. They may have too many items to bring on the airplane or in their car if they are going to stay in Florida for a few months during the winter. Often they will ship their belongings to our storage facility. We put their things in their storage unit and they are here when they arrive

Shipping from a UPS Store or Pack and Ship type store offers convenience. Often these stores add a surcharge for their service. You can go to shippers’ websites and calculate how much a shipment should cost. Most will accept credit card payment. You can usually schedule a pick up at your location. This may be less expensive than the Pack and Ship type store.
